Zazu partners with Tutuka to enhance the digital payments landscape in Africa
Zambian based FinTech Zazu, has partnered with global payments enabler, Tutuka, to launch its first Mastercard virtual card.
The Mastercard virtual card is linked to the Zazu mobile wallet which allows cardholders to easily access funds and connect to the global marketplace. The virtual card provides additional no-contact digital payment solutions to meet the growing demand for ‘contactless’ solutions in the region, with the added benefit that it helps stem the spread of Covid-19.
Zazu needed a partner that understood the complex regional challenges and who was able to speed up time to market, allowing brand new digital payment options to emerge from Zambia. The creation of a virtual card will allow even greater digital financial inclusion.
“We are incredibly pleased to bring our card programme to life with the help of Tutuka, who has proven to be a very knowledgeable and reliable partner,” said Perseus Mlambo, Founder and CEO at Zazu.
Tutuka is well known for its unique Processor Plus model which enables FinTechs, mobile wallets, apps, and banks to easily issue Mastercard, Visa and UnionPay payment products, such as physical or virtual cards that are linked to the values in their customers’ wallets or accounts.
